Microsoft 365 is once again facing a significant service disruption, with users reporting widespread inaccessibility of web apps, including key services like Outlook, following server crashes.

Microsoft confirmed the outage through their official status updates on X. However, users trying to check the status via the Admin Center are encountering issues, as the platform is also inaccessible, further complicating efforts to troubleshoot.

According to Downdetector, the problems began around 9 a.m. on 10th December 2024, with users unable to access Microsoft 365 apps for the web.

This disruption follows a series of outages Microsoft has faced in recent weeks, raising concerns over the reliability of its service. Microsoft has attributed this issue to a “recent change” in its systems. The company is actively working on rolling back the change and implementing additional fixes. However, the outage underscores the vulnerability of heavily relying on cloud-based services for critical operations. This incident fits a troubling pattern of disruptions, sparking questions about the long-term reliability of such platforms.

The outage highlights the need for businesses to have contingency plans and alternative communication tools to reduce the impact of such disruptions. As Microsoft works to resolve the issue, affected users are advised to stay updated via the company’s official channels.
