AJC Achieves ISO 27001 Certification

AJC is pleased to announce that it has achieved ISO 27001 certification, recognising the robust information security processes and controls in place across the business.

Following a successful Stage 2 audit, the certification confirms that AJC’s Information Security Management System (ISMS) meets the requirements of the internationally recognised standard for information security management.

What is ISO 27001?

ISO 27001 is an internationally recognised standard for Information Security Management. It provides a structured framework for identifying and managing risks to the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information.

The standard covers areas including access control, data protection, incident response, supplier security, business continuity and staff training.

At AJC, the Management System encompasses all staff and contractors, the company’s products and services, internal business support and customer service processes, and its IT and physical infrastructure.

The principles at the heart of the standard are confidentiality, ensuring information is protected from unauthorised access or disclosure; integrity, protecting its accuracy and completeness; and availability, ensuring information remains accessible when required.

Preparing for ISO 27001 Certification

Achieving certification required AJC to formalise and demonstrate the controls and governance processes it uses to manage information security across the business.

This included developing policies and procedures, implementing appropriate security controls, investing in technology, providing staff training and appointing a security lead.

AJC also needed to provide evidence that these processes were being followed in practice and that controls were regularly reviewed and improved.

The company’s Information Security Management System includes processes for systematically identifying security threats, assessing risk, implementing appropriate controls and monitoring their effectiveness. Continual improvement and staff involvement are also central to the approach.

Positive Feedback from the Audit

During the audit, particular strengths were identified in the level of detail within AJC’s policies and procedures and the way these reflected the company’s actual business processes.

The auditor also highlighted the appropriate level of controls that had been implemented and the processes in place to review them regularly.

What Does ISO 27001 Mean for AJC’s Clients and Partners?

For clients and partners, ISO 27001 certification provides independent assurance that AJC takes the security of the information entrusted to it seriously.

It demonstrates that the company has established a structured approach to identifying information security risks and has implemented controls designed to manage those risks in line with an internationally recognised standard.

This is particularly important when organisations are sharing sensitive or confidential information and need confidence in the way that data will be handled and protected.
