Read MoreI’m Matthew Neall, a Director at A Jolly Consulting specialising in Cyber Security, Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery and Risk Management. With over 20 years’ experience across Financial Services and Cyber Security, I help organisations strengthen resilience and operate with confidence in an increasingly complex digital landscape.
I have been part of AJC for six years, and in 2024 I was delighted to become a Director of the business. It was a proud milestone for me personally and reflects the journey we have been on as a company. Throughout my time here, I have focused on ensuring our clients receive practical, proportionate and commercially realistic support that genuinely adds value.
Looking ahead, my ambition is for AJC to continue strengthening the way we support organisations in navigating cyber risk. As threats evolve and regulatory expectations increase, I want us to remain a trusted, pragmatic partner, helping clients build resilience that is sustainable, measurable and embedded across their business.
At AJC, I lead our Cyber Security and Business Continuity work and am often one of the first points of contact for new and existing clients. As a compliance generalist, I support organisations across a wide range of governance, risk and regulatory challenges.
I work closely with our consultants to ensure the solutions we recommend are appropriate to each client’s size, sector and risk profile. My goal is to ensure that clients receive the right level of service and that our advice is clear, pragmatic and capable of being implemented in the real world.
Every organisation is different. My role is to understand those differences quickly and tailor our approach so that resilience becomes embedded, not just documented.
When we work with clients, it usually starts with understanding where their real risks sit. That might mean identifying gaps in cyber controls, reviewing operational resilience, or looking closely at how their business continuity arrangements would perform under pressure.
From there, we help them develop practical risk management and business continuity strategies that genuinely reflect how their organisation operates. That can include strengthening disaster recovery arrangements, embedding proportionate ISO standards, or improving governance and control frameworks so that resilience is not just theoretical, but embedded into day-to-day activity.
For me, it is about ensuring that what is written on paper actually works in practice and delivers real value.
Before joining AJC, I worked alongside Adrian for a number of years at a Financial Services administration company. I initially focused on Financial Crime Prevention before moving into Business Continuity and Risk Management, which became a particular area of interest for me.
Incident Management formed a key part of my role. This gave me exposure to multiple areas of the business and a detailed understanding of operational complexity, interdependencies and how organisations function under pressure. It reinforced the importance of realistic planning and clear accountability.
Having worked mostly in the Financial Services environment, it has given me the ability to ensure that governance is in place and maintained to a high level. Working with multiple site and geographical locations have helped me broaden my expertise in Business Continuity and Risk Management Approach.
This experience enables me to review client operations quickly, identify gaps and provide practical solutions that are proportionate to their risk exposure.
Outside of AJC, apart from following my football team, I also work with a group of friends who run ghost hunting events across the country, taking guests into historic locations and exploring the paranormal.
It may not be conventional, but it certainly keeps life interesting and requires its own form of risk assessment and planning!
At AJC, we support organisations across Cyber Security, Business Continuity, Risk Management, Governance and Compliance. Our aim is always to provide practical, effective solutions without unnecessary complexity.
If your organisation is looking for straightforward advice and experienced support, I would be happy to help. You can reach us via our contact page or email me directly at matthew@ajollyconsulting.co.uk.
